Brooklyn Earick Rules Out Tottenham Hotspur Acquisition Offer Post-Initial Contact

The former chairman directed Spurs' transition to the state-of-the-art venue in recent years.

Innovative business leader Brooklyn Earick has rejected making a formal takeover bid for the North London club.

Tottenham had before “firmly declined” an unofficial approach from a investment group headed by Brooklyn Earick last month and stated the team was not for sale.

But UK takeover and merger rules required that, having had an initial approach declined, the interested parties were obligated to present a formal offer by 24 October or state they would refrain.

Official word of the choice was provided in a statement issued by Spurs to the stock exchange, confirming the club is “not in an acquisition window.”

Earick posted an image of the release on social media, remarking: “It's been a honor engaging with Spurs and the owners' agents over the past few months.

“I hold deep admiration for the club, its leadership, and its followers, and hope for nothing but success.”

Spurs' leadership expressed gratitude to the consortium for its “positive engagement” in talks and for “honoring the definitive view” of the owners that the team is unavailable.

Brooklyn Earick is a ex-disc jockey who also served in space technology for NASA before founding the innovation company, which concentrates on technology, entertainment, athletics and leisure.

Earick's proposal was the third inquiry rejected by the team's directors since the abrupt resignation of executive chairman Levy in last month.

Earlier in September, the team rejected offers from ex-Newcastle investor the financier's PCP International Finance Limited and a syndicate spearheaded by Roger Kennedy and Wing-Fai Ng through Firehawk Holdings.

The former chairman and his household hold about 30% of Enic Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd – which has an majority shareholding in Spurs.

Levy was the English top flight's most enduring chair and is reported to have made over £50 million during his long tenure in the role.

Yet he was also the subject of frequent demonstrations by Spurs fans, especially last term as Premier League performances were disappointing.

The north London club won their first trophy in seventeen years when they overcame the Red Devils in May's Europa League final.
